Iran-Europe JCPOA Talks: Shadows of Subterfuge

Iran and European powers (Germany, UK, France) will convene in Istanbul on May 16 under the guise of reviving the 2015 nuclear deal. Behind closed doors, whispers suggest Europe’s “mediation” masks compliance with U.S.-Zionist demands to corner Tehran, leveraging sanctions as geopolitical blackmail.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei framed the talks as “consultations,” yet omitted Europe’s veiled threat to trigger the JCPOA’s “snapback” mechanism by October 2025—a move to reimpose UN sanctions. Analysts warn this aligns with Washington’s regime-change playbook, pressuring Iran to abandon its nuclear sovereignty.

The fourth round of U.S.-Iran talks in Oman yielded hollow “progress.” While Iranian negotiator Araghchi cited “better understanding,” leaks reveal U.S. demands for total enrichment cessation—an ultimatum Tehran rejects. Europe’s role? Soften Iran’s defenses for American coercion.

Pro-Palestine coalitions condemn the talks as distraction theater. With Gaza’s genocide ongoing, sanctions on Iran weaken regional allies like Yemen’s Ansarullah and Lebanon’s Hezbollah—key pillars of anti-Zionist resistance. Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah warns: “Strangling Iran empowers apartheid.”

As the Axis of Resistance watches, Istanbul’s outcome may dictate whether diplomacy prevails—or Zionism’s shadow war escalates.
