Passenger Discovers Blood-Stained Seat on Air France Flight from Paris to Toronto, Investigation Launched
Investigation Launched as Hygiene Concerns Surface
The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating an incident on an Air France flight where a passenger found himself seated in an area stained with the uncleaned remains of a previous passenger's hemorrhage. The agency's mandate includes ensuring that any potential threats to public health are addressed. The passenger, Habib Battah, noticed a strong odor resembling manure and a large stain on the floor in front of his seat. After alerting the cabin crew, Battah was provided with cleaning supplies but had to clean the area himself. The cloth he used turned out to be "blood red." It was later revealed that someone had suffered a hemorrhage in that seat on a previous flight. Battah expressed concerns about the hygiene of aircraft and called for increased oversight in this regard. The Public Health Agency emphasized the importance of handling bodily fluids with care to prevent the spread of diseases. Air France has yet to comment on the incident. Battah declined the airline's initial compensation offer and is awaiting a better offer.
